Department of Computer and Information Engineering

The Department of Computer and Information Engineering has four undergraduate majors: computer science and technology, information management and information system, software engineering and network engineering. At present, there are more than 800 students in school. At the same time, it also undertakes the teaching of basic computer courses in the whole school.

The department has teaching and research sections such as computer science, computer science and technology, information management and information system, software engineering and network engineering. There are 68 faculty members, including 46 full-time teachers, 4 professors, 2 associate professors/kloc-0, and more than 70% senior engineers have master's and doctoral degrees.

The department has 10 computer specialized laboratories, computer basic laboratories and computer engineering training centers. Undertake the experimental teaching and computer engineering training of various professional courses, basic computer courses and CAD courses in the department, which can accommodate more than 400 people to get on the computer at the same time. The National Multimedia Software Engineering Research Center has set up a video testing laboratory in its headquarters. The laboratory area of the whole department is 4000 square meters, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is nearly100000 yuan.

The department has always adhered to the central position of teaching work, and is committed to cultivating applied senior professionals in the field of computer and information science with reasonable knowledge structure, high comprehensive quality, innovative consciousness and practical ability for the first line of economic construction. Adhere to scientific research to promote teaching and extensively carry out students' extracurricular scientific and technological activities. At present, it has formed a teaching and scientific research direction with information system and network technology as the main body, undertaken national and provincial scientific research projects 15, published more than 300 academic papers, published more than 30 teaching materials, won more than 30 outstanding bachelor's degree thesis awards in Hubei Province, and participated in international and national robot soccer competitions for college students many times.

Computer science and technology (four-year undergraduate)

Training objectives: This major trains high-level specialized scientific and technological talents with good scientific literacy and systematic mastery of basic theories, basic knowledge, basic skills and methods of computer science and technology, including computer hardware, software and applications.

Training requirements: This major aims at training senior computer professionals, and is committed to training senior software engineers with the ability to develop comprehensive application software of computer technology in combination with the characteristics of computer software. The professional direction is system-oriented, focusing on the development and comprehensive application of computer technology. Mainly study the basic theory of computer system software and hardware, and learn and master the research, design and comprehensive application methods of computers and their application systems. The academic system lasts for four years, and students are awarded a bachelor's degree in engineering after graduation.

Information management and information system (four-year undergraduate)

Training objectives: This major trains senior specialized management talents with the theoretical basis of modern management, knowledge and application ability of computer science and technology, systematic thinking, confidence system analysis, design methods and information management.

Training requirements: Students in this major mainly study the theoretical and basic knowledge of computer science and technology, information resource management, computer and information system economics, management, quantitative analysis methods and so on. Receive basic training in information system development methods and information management methods, cultivate good written expression, interpersonal communication and information acquisition skills, and have the basic ability to comprehensively analyze and solve information management and information system application problems. The academic system lasts for four years, and students are awarded a bachelor's degree in management after graduation.

Software engineering (four-year undergraduate)

Training objectives: This major trains senior software engineering development and research technicians, software project management technicians or software enterprise managers who have good scientific literacy, solid and extensive basic theoretical knowledge and professional knowledge in the field of software engineering, the ability to engage in software analysis, design, development and maintenance by using advanced engineering methods, technologies and tools, and the ability to organize and manage engineering projects, teamwork, technological innovation and market development, and meet the requirements of software industry development. Senior specialized scientific and technical personnel who can engage in the research and development, implementation and management of computer software projects in software enterprises, scientific research departments, educational institutions and administrative departments.

Training requirements: Students in this major mainly study basic theories and professional knowledge in the field of software engineering, and receive basic training in research, development, implementation and management of software engineering projects. Training objectives: This major trains high-quality professionals who have good scientific and technological literacy, systematically master the basic theories, knowledge, skills and methods of network design and integration, have received strict training in network design and integration engineering, and can engage in network system planning, design, implementation, development, management and service in network design and integration and related fields. After graduation, students can engage in network system planning and design, network system integration, network operation and maintenance management and other aspects in the information industry and other national economic departments.

Training objectives: This major trains senior specialized scientific and technological talents with good computer application skills, and is mainly devoted to the development, operation, management and maintenance of computer application systems and other related skills.

Training requirements: This major aims at training senior computer professionals, and is committed to training computer application engineering technicians with the ability to develop, operate, manage and maintain computer technology integrated application systems by combining the characteristics of computer software. The major direction is application-oriented, focusing on the development and comprehensive application of computer technology. Mainly study the basic theory of computer system software and hardware, and learn and master the design, development and comprehensive application methods of computers and their application systems.
