LCOS, as a micro-display technology, appeared in the late 1990s. With the maturity of technology and the gradual improvement of technology, LCOS has gradually formed a trend of competing with DLP and LCD in the projection market. The structure of LCOS is to grow transistors on monocrystalline silicon, make a driving panel (also called CMOS-LCD) by semiconductor integration, then polish the transistors by grinding technology, and plate aluminum film electrodes on them as mirrors to form a CMOS active dot matrix substrate, then paste the CMOS substrate on the upper glass substrate containing ITO transparent electrodes, and then inject liquid crystal for packaging.
