Qinshan Phase II Nuclear Power Plant has fully implemented the policy of "focusing on ourselves and cooperating with foreign countries" formulated by the state, mastered the core technology of nuclear power through independent design and construction, and founded the first commercial nuclear power brand with independent intellectual property rights in China-CNP650, thus achieving the national goal of building Qinshan Phase II Nuclear Power Plant.
Qinshan Phase II nuclear power plant adopts the world's mature, safe and reliable PWR type. Its design and construction adopt international standards. According to the requirements of international advanced PWR nuclear power plants in 1990s, many major innovations have been made in nuclear power plant safety and performance, such as core design and safety system design. Optimize equipment design and system parameters to improve the output of nuclear power units. The maximum output can reach 689MWe, and the average output is 670MWe, which is higher than the design value of 600MWe, and the output is the highest among all 2-loop nuclear power plants.
The construction of Qinshan Phase II nuclear power plant has greatly improved the manufacturing capacity of nuclear power equipment in China. Of the 55 items of key equipment, 47 items have been basically localized, and the localization rate of equipment has reached 55%.
The specific investment of Qinshan Phase II nuclear power plant is 1.330 USD/kW, which is the lowest among the nuclear power plants built in China and lower than the domestic average cost of developed countries.
