Put into production. Guodian Xixia Power Plant is the largest hydropower station in the world. On July 2023 10, the first unit of Three Gorges Power Station was put into operation for 20 years. The Three Gorges Power Station has installed 34 hydro-generator sets with a total installed capacity of 22.5 million kilowatts and an annual designed power generation of 88.2 billion kWh. It is the backbone power supply point of "West-to-East Power Transmission" and "North-South Mutual Power Supply" in China, which transmits electricity to East China, Central China and Guangdong all day.
