The US Department of Commerce said on the 29th that ZTE, a telecom equipment manufacturer in China, will be removed from the trade blacklist (entity list) on the same day. On the morning of 29th, ZTE also announced that it and Shenzhen Zhongxing Kangxun Electronics Co., Ltd. would be removed from the entity list on 29th, US time, upon the suggestion of the Bureau of Industry and Security of the US Department of Commerce. Earlier this month, ZTE reached a settlement with the U.S. government on the export control investigation case and agreed to pay about 890 million U.S. dollars in criminal and civil fines.
According to a report by Reuters on March 28th, ZTE was removed from the blacklist, which means that the tense period of the company has ended. ZTE's previous trade ban may have interrupted its relationship with important US suppliers.
According to the report, Zhao Xianming, CEO of ZTE, said in an e-mail statement that he is committed to making ZTE a law-abiding, healthy and reliable enterprise.
