Nanjing Racecourse is located in Qixia District of this city. According to historical records, more than 600 years ago, the racecourse was formerly the horse breeding base of Zhu Yuanzhang, the ancestor of the Ming Dynasty. Bailong Mountain in the east, Xianlin University Town in the west, Zijinshan Mountain in the north and Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway in the south. In order to support the racecourse, the Nanjing Municipal Government has specially built eight lanes around the racecourse, including Kaixuan Road, Qilin Road and Baishui Road. It can be described as beautiful scenery, convenient transportation and rich cultural and historical background.
The racecourse covers an area of 778,000 square meters and was designed by Hong Kong Lian Consulting Company. The first phase of the project has been completed, including: stand area, stable area, track area and square area. At present, the construction of the athletes' apartment area is about to start.
