The Baishan Cascade Hub Project is composed of "one plant and three stations", which mainly generates electricity and has comprehensive functions such as flood control, irrigation and aquaculture. The total installed capacity of Baishan Power Plant is 6.5438+0.7 million kilowatts, and the designed annual average power generation is 2.36 billion kWh. Among them, Baishan Underground Hydropower Station has installed three 300,000 kW Francis turbine-generator sets; Two 300,000 kW Francis turbine-generator sets have been installed in Baishan Left Bank Power Station. Hongshi Hydropower Station, located 39 kilometers downstream of Baishan Mountain, has installed four 50,000 kW axial-flow fixed-blade hydrogenerators. Baishan Dam is a three-center circular concrete gravity arch dam with a maximum dam height of 149.5m and a crest arc length of 676.50m; Hongshi Dam is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum dam height of 46 m and a dam length of 438 m.. The construction of Baishan Hydropower Project started on 1975, the first 300,000-kilowatt unit was put into operation at the end of 1983, and all five units were put into operation on 1992. Hongshi Hydropower Station started construction on 1982, and all four units were put into operation at the end of 1987.
From 1992 to 1996, Baishan Power Plant completed the relocation of its production and living base from Baishan Town and Hongshi Town to huadian city. 1998- 2000 was awarded the title of "Double Civilization Unit" by the State Power Company. 1999 and 2000 won the first place in the evaluation of large hydropower plants in China twice. In April, 2000, Baishan Power Plant passed the acceptance of "First-class Hydropower Plant" of State Power Company. On May, 2000, 15, the State Power Company officially named Baishan Hydropower Plant as "Class I Hydropower Plant", becoming the first hydropower plant directly managed by the State Power Company to receive this title.
