Shanghai Supercomputer Center was established in June 2000. It is invested and built by Shanghai Municipal Government and located in Zhangjiang High-tech Development Zone, Pudong.

Shanghai Supercomputing Center is the first high-performance computing service platform with excellent resources, first-class facilities and complete functions in China. It has three supercomputers, Dawning 4000a (ranked 10 in the world in 2004) and Rubik's Cube 5000a (ranked 10 in the world in 2008 and 1 0 in Asia), and is equipped with rich scientific and engineering calculation software.

Over the years, Shanghai Supercomputing Center, based in Shanghai and facing the whole country, has provided on-demand high-performance computing resources, technical support and advanced technical consulting services to more than 350 users from engineering research institutes and many well-known universities, and supported a large number of major scientific research, engineering and enterprise new product research and development in the fields of automobiles, aviation, steel, nuclear energy, municipal engineering, new materials, biopharmaceuticals, astronomy, physics and chemistry.

In the future, facing the national strategic demand of independent innovation, the goal of building two financial and shipping centers in Shanghai, and the regional strategic demand of developing high-tech industries such as commercial large aircraft, new materials, biomedicine, major equipment, new energy, electric vehicles, etc., Shanghai Supercomputing Center will continue to maintain its resource advantages, further improve its technical capabilities and service levels, and assist more users to transform advanced computing capabilities into scientific research and innovation capabilities, so as to build a world-class supercomputer center.
