China Petrochemical Group Shanghai Engineering Co., Ltd. (SSEC) was established in 1953. It was once named Shanghai Chemical and Pharmaceutical Design Institute of Ministry of Chemical Industry, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Design Institute of State Administration of Medicine, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Industry Design Institute of China Petrochemical Group (SPIDI), etc. It is the earliest medical professional design unit in China and the earliest large-scale comprehensive survey in petrochemical design in China.
