My Extraordinary Parents is a realistic film produced by Tianma Film and Television Culture (Beijing) Co., Ltd., supervised by Huang Ziheng and Wu Jianxiong, written and directed by Zhu Fengxian, and starring Kara Wai, Wu Dairong and Wu Qianyu. It was released in Chinese mainland on September 2nd, 2022. The film is adapted from the director's own true story, telling the story of a pair of blind parents raising their daughter with normal vision. To tell the truth, I can't hide this kind of film, not for the truth of the film itself, but because I can't accept it. I don't understand why I sing it.
What I see is that the parent-child relationship is suffocating. Because I am blind and life is inconvenient, I decided to treat my children as my own eyes and let them be "volunteers" all my life. Children have no private life, no circles, and nothing they want to do. Should they always take care of themselves?
As I said at the beginning, Gan Xiaohong married Zhu Guoqiang, the husband of the same blind man, and gave birth to her daughter. I can't see a frame by frame, and it's very hard to take care of my daughter alone. After her daughter pulled down the rice cooker and was burned, she couldn't see where her daughter was or where her daughter was injured. Tell me, isn't she upset?
Relatives and friends are full of blame: "A Qiang, I didn't say you. I advise you not to have children. We normal people can't bring it well, let alone you. "
Selfish, regardless of her comprehensive ability, she never thought about what kind of life she would give herself after giving birth to a child rashly. This is not what she wants. From beginning to end, she thought it was her own selfishness, rather than covering up the cruel facts and asking her children to be grateful for their upbringing.
Where did she understand when she was a child? When she was born, she had no choice. She is too young to rely on her parents. How can she understand the hardships of future life? When I saw her naively telling blind parents about the outside world, a tree and a grass, a happy family; What followed was that after she became a big girl, her face was impatient and she was tied up at home as an eyeliner, unable to contact the outside world.
Visible to the naked eye, my extraordinary parents are not big productions. Compared with the prosperity of Hong Kong film market in the last century, there are only a handful of wholly-owned films in Hong Kong. In the past, big coffee was made by joint ventures. The film starring two teachers, Kara Wai and Wu Dairong, adds a lot of color to the film.
