Strategic advantages of Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration

Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration has become a new "interface" for economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN.

At present, the urban agglomeration of Beibu Gulf Economic Zone is transitioning from a relatively primitive framework of "front port and rear factory" to a framework of "integration of port logistics parks", and the benefits generated by the coastal economic development model are gradually emerging.

In order to improve the comprehensive competitiveness of coastal ports, Guangxi Beibu Gulf International Port Group Co., Ltd., which is under construction, will establish a new operating mechanism and introduce new strategic investors, with the goal of building Fangchenggang, Qinzhou and Beihai into a modern combined port of more than 100 million tons in five years.

It is of great value for Beibu Gulf Port to expand cooperation with ASEAN. Only by promoting the integration of the three coastal ports in Guangxi and forming a modern port economy with supporting development can its competitiveness be enhanced.

The successful introduction and construction of major industrial projects have built a concrete carrier for the Beibu Gulf (Guangxi) Economic Zone to connect with the ASEAN market. At present, more than 400 enterprises from ASEAN countries have invested and cooperated in Guangxi, and ASEAN has become the second largest source of foreign investment in Guangxi. Among them, the cooperation between the forestry-pulp-paper integration project of Indonesia Guangjin Group and the Tianchang coal blending base project, which has just settled in the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration, is particularly striking.

The forestry-pulp-paper integration project invested by Indonesia Guangjin Group will make Qinzhou the largest paper-making base in Asia, and the 20-million-ton coal blending base that our private enterprise Tiansheng Company cooperates with Vietnamese and Indonesian enterprises will make Qinzhou the largest coal import port in China.
