Tianzhu is called "Huarui" in Tibetan. Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, located in the middle of Gansu Province, is the gateway of Hexi Corridor and is known as the "plateau gold basin". It is the first ethnic autonomous county named by Premier Zhou Enlai after the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC). The county has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 14 townships and 188 administrative villages, with a total area of 7 149.8 square kilometers and a total population of 230,200. The location is excellent and the traffic is particularly convenient. Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway, National Highway 3 12 and Xiwu Communication Optical Cable pass through the county, only 80 kilometers away from Zhongchuan Airport, 0/45 kilometers away from Lanzhou, the provincial capital, and 0/36 kilometers away from Wuwei/KLOC-0, the important town of the Silk Road. People flow, logistics and information flow are very smooth and convenient. The territory is rich in mineral resources, animal husbandry, water conservancy, forests and tourism. There is a rare animal species "Tianzhu White Yak" in the world, and there are more than 20 kinds of mineral deposits such as gold, silver, copper, iron, titanium and manganese. In particular, tourism resources are among the best in ethnic autonomous prefectures and counties in the province. There are Tang Tian Temple, an ancient temple built in the Tang Dynasty, and the first wooden Buddha in Zong Kaba in the world. The beautiful "Three Gorges in Tianzhu", the majestic Maya Snow Mountain Tianchi, the first scenic spot in Asia to enter the Qin Canal, are antique. Tianzhu is also a national pilot county for returning farmland to forests (grasslands) and the only pilot county for reform and opening up in ethnic areas in the province.
Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County seized the historical opportunity of western development, and determined the general idea of economic and social development: emphasizing the implementation of three strategies of rejuvenating the county through science and education, giving priority to the foundation and opening to the outside world, striving to build four brands, namely, the first county of ethnic autonomy in China, the only producing area of white yak in the world, the eco-tourism summer resort in northwest China and the green food production base in snowy plateau, and focusing on the development of five characteristic industries, namely, white yak, tourism, special breeding, special planting and Tibetan medicine. Since the establishment of Autonomous County for more than 50 years, especially since the reform and opening up, with the correct leadership and strong support of provinces and cities, and through the hard efforts of successive county committees and governments and people of all ethnic groups in the county, it has shown a good situation of political stability, economic development, national unity and religious harmony. In recent years, Tianzhu County has been commended by the State Council as a "model county of national unity and progress", approved as an open county, and awarded the title of "advanced county in scientific and technological work" by the Ministry of Science and Technology. At the same time, it has been identified by the state as a key county for the new round of poverty alleviation and development work.
