Inulin industry has just started in China. On March 25th, 2009, the Ministry of Health of China approved inulin as a new resource food. Prior to this, some far-sighted and courageous entrepreneurs in Gansu, Shanxi, Hubei, Ningxia, Qinghai and other places had invested in the inulin industry and built a certain scale of production lines, which pioneered the development of inulin industry in China. Up to 20 12, the annual output of inulin in China is over 5000 tons.
Chen Xiaoqiang, general manager of Sept Environmental Protection Technology (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., has studied and promoted the inulin industry for a long time and has a deep understanding of the inulin market in Europe and China. He believes that there is a big gap between China inulin market and industrial development, domestic inulin producers are not clear about the market application and development, there is no relevant national standard for inulin, the product testing method is not clear, and inulin producers know little about inulin derivatives.
Nevertheless, the domestic inulin industry still broke ground and developed tenaciously. Not long ago, the technical team of Sepp Environmental Protection Technology (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. just designed an inulin production line for an inulin production enterprise in northwest China, and successfully processed 40 tons of high-purity inulin with European chicory as raw material through local process adjustment. The successful industrial production of European chicory proves that the inulin production line designed and provided by Sept technical team is not only suitable for the production of Jerusalem artichoke, but also suitable for the production of European chicory. This is the first time that domestic inulin manufacturers use Jerusalem artichoke as the main raw material and chicory as the auxiliary material to produce high-purity inulin, or use chicory as the main raw material and Jerusalem artichoke as the auxiliary material to produce high-purity inulin.
Wang Yanping, general manager of Shanghai Bocheng Dietary Fiber Development Co., Ltd., has rich experience in dietary fiber market and enterprise management at home and abroad. He reminded domestic inulin enterprises to let consumers know that inulin belongs to the category of dietary fiber. Because consumers have a general understanding of dietary fiber, consumers are more likely to know inulin; Furthermore, we should master the concept of prebiotics. Inulin is not the mainstream product of prebiotics, so its market share is low. He reminded enterprises in the inulin market to pay close attention to the opportunities of national nutrition labeling standards.
On May 1 day, 2008, the national hygienic standard for nutrition labeling was promulgated and implemented. Before this, some products added little dietary fiber, but they also claimed to be high dietary fiber foods. Implementing the national hygienic standard of nutrition label, the high dietary fiber products should be named, the dietary fiber content should be greater than 6%, and the food processing enterprises should standardize the effective amount, from conceptual addition to functional addition, which also provides opportunities for inulin industry.
According to his own experience, Wang Yanping put forward his own views on how to expand the enterprise. He suggested that inulin producers should exercise in mature markets, that is, export markets. He said that it is difficult to achieve internationalization without exports, and it is difficult for us to grow without putting us in the nitpicking of developed countries. In the export competition, we are facing the competition of international leading products. We must accept various evaluations of mature markets in developed countries, and we must act according to international standards. This is a shortcut for our growth and the only way for us to go international.
Enterprises exporting products all know that although we have done various certifications, every time major international customers can ask new questions, which is very helpful for our growth. In addition, the consumption of dietary fiber abroad is far greater than that at home. Walking out of export barriers is also the best way for us to develop rapidly and expand the market scale.
Wang Yanping reminded relevant enterprises that any product will inevitably become homogeneous in the end. One day, all of us will be at the same level in making inulin. When you can replace foreign products, you have completed a thrilling leap. Once we enter the international market, the market structure will be redefined by us.
Domestic inulin producers mainly include Dingxi Longhai Dairy Co., Ltd., Tianmen Lihai Chrysanthemum Powder Technology Development Co., Ltd., Shanxi Yishengyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Baiyin Xi Rui Bioengineering Co., Ltd., Zhangye Peng Yun Bioenergy Co., Ltd., Zhongxing Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and Qinghai Wade Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
The leaders of major domestic inulin production enterprises agree that domestic inulin production enterprises should work together with Qi Xin to expand the inulin industry and establish their own organizations. China Inulin Industry Development Working Group has been established to further promote and implement the Inulin Industry Development Policy and promote the development of Inulin Industry in China.
