WTT Star Challenge is a table tennis event launched by WTT World Table Tennis Company in 20021year, with six races in total. In order to provide world-class events, WTT Challenge Series will adopt a unique black and blue brand design, and there will be two event levels-WTT Star Challenge and WTT Regular Challenge.
Athletes will compete for ITTF table tennis world ranking points here, and future table tennis stars will also take this opportunity to improve their rankings. The competition will be held in the traditional table tennis venue environment.
The WTT Star Challenge lasts for six days, and the WTT General Challenge lasts for four days. There are men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles in each event. 2-3 days singles qualifying match +5 days race: men's and women's singles (48 persons each), men's and women's doubles (each 16 pairs) and mixed doubles (each 16 pairs). Organizers of WTT Star Challenge will have the opportunity to choose the size of singles qualifying tournament: 32, 48 or 64; Doubles qualifiers are fixed at 16.
Entry restrictions of WTT Star Challenge:
The WTT Star Challenge allows up to four top 20 players in the world to participate, and the WTT Regular Challenge allows up to two top 20 players to participate. WTT events allow a wild card seat to be allocated to any top 20 players who have been relegated to the competition limit, giving fans a chance to see their favorite top 20 players appear in WTT events and compete with challengers on the same stage.
Before the registration deadline, up to four top 20 contestants will be allowed to participate in each WTT Star Challenge. Players will be allowed to participate in the competition according to the following criteria: the top 20 players from the host country will take the first priority. The top 20 players who can't participate in tournaments or grand slams six weeks before the registration deadline due to the quota restrictions of countries and associations. Select the top 20 players according to the ranking order.
