The newly established Xiamen Port Authority, as the transportation department in charge of ports, waterways and waterway transportation in Xiamen Bay, has been put into operation since June 65438+ 10/day, 2006. The former Xiamen Port Authority and Zhangzhou Port Authority were revoked accordingly.
Xiamen New Port consists of Houshi Port and Shima Port under the jurisdiction of the former Zhangzhou Port Authority in Xiamen Bay, Fujian Province, and Zhaoyin Port under the jurisdiction of the Zhangzhou Port Authority in China Merchants Development Zone, and merged with the five ports of Du Dong, Haicang, Songyu, Liuwudian and Passenger Transport under the jurisdiction of the former Xiamen Port Authority. From now on, the eight port areas of Xiamen Bay will be collectively referred to as XX Port Area of Xiamen Port.
The reform of Xiamen Bay port management system is an important strategic measure for Fujian provincial party committee and government to speed up the construction of the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait. This reform involves Xiamen and Zhangzhou, as well as China Merchants Zhangzhou Development Zone. It is an exploration, innovation and breakthrough of cross-administrative port integration. It will strengthen the integration and comprehensive development of port resources in Xiamen Bay, improve the collection and distribution conditions of Xiamen Port, further enlarge and strengthen Xiamen Port, and give full play to the radiation effect of Xiamen leading port on the development of the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait and even the hinterland of the mainland.
Xu Zuyuan, Vice Minister of Communications who made a special trip to Xiamen to attend the unveiling ceremony, fully affirmed Fujian's practice of breaking through the boundaries of administrative divisions, integrating Xiamen and Zhangzhou port resources and realizing the administrative integration of Xiamen Bay port resources.
