Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park was established in July, 1992. It is located in the central part of Pudong New Area, with a planned area of 25 square kilometers. It is divided into technological innovation zone, high-tech industrial zone, scientific research and education zone and living zone. 1In August, 1999, the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government issued the strategic decision of "Focus on Zhangjiang", making it clear that the park takes integrated circuits, software and biomedicine as the leading industries, reflecting the main functions of innovation and entrepreneurship. Since then, Zhangjiang Park has entered a stage of rapid development.
