Which three cities first used electricity in China?

1On May 28th, 879 (the eighth day of April in the fifth year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty), J.D.Bishop, an electrical engineer of Shanghai Public Concession Bureau, used a 10 horsepower (7.46kW) steam engine as power to drive a self-excited DC generator to generate electricity and lit a carbon arc lamp.

Subsequently, in 1882 (the eighth year of Guangxu), an Englishman, R.W.Little, invested in the establishment of Shanghai Electric Company (also known as Shanghai Electro-Optical Company) and founded the first power plant in Shanghai on 3 1A Avenue (now Nanjing East Road 190). At the same time, the first arc lamp pole was erected in the corner fence of the power plant, and the 15 lamp was connected in series along the vertical pole line from the Bund to the China Merchants Wharf in Hongkou. 1882 (June 12th, 8th year of Guangxu reign of Qing Dynasty) At 7: 00 pm on July 26th, the power plant began to supply power. So Shanghai is the first city in China to use electricity.

In the sixth year after the power generation of Zhapu Road Electric Light Factory, which belongs to Shanghai Electro-optical Company, Tianjin began to run electricity and took the lead in using electricity in North China.

? So the first three cities to use electricity were Shanghai, Tianjin and Beijing.
