North China Pharmaceutical Factory has two main production plants in Shijiazhuang. One is an antibiotic factory and the other is a starch factory. The preparation of these two plants started from 1953, and 1955 to 1956 was completed and put into operation. The establishment of these two factories ended the history of China's dependence on imported penicillin and streptomycin, and greatly improved the medical situation in China.
