China is the largest importer of isopropanol in Asia. However, due to the increase of domestic supply capacity and the sluggish downstream demand, the import volume is decreasing year by year. According to the statistics of China Customs, in 20 1 1 year, China imported 65,438+million tons of isopropanol, a decrease of 15.25% over the previous year. In the first nine months of 20 12 years, China's isopropanol imports were about 6 1 10,000 tons, down 10.23% year-on-year.
According to the published projects, from the fourth quarter of 20 12 to the end of 20 13, more than 65% of the new isopropanol production capacity in Asia will come from China. For example, 20 13 and 10, Dezhou Detian Chemical Co., Ltd. put into operation a 50,000-ton/year acetone isopropanol plant, and sealed up the old factory with 1 10,000 tons/year. In 20 13, Yancheng Supor Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. added 654.38+10,000 tons/year isopropanol production capacity in Weifang, Shandong Province, and Taiwan Province Changchun Plastic Company will add 80,000 tons/year isopropanol production capacity in Panjin, Liaoning Province.
By 20 13, the isopropanol production capacity in China is expected to be 340,000 tons/year. If these new capacity are released as scheduled, China, the largest isopropanol buyer in Asia, may be self-sufficient in 20 13, and its isopropanol supply will turn to an inflection point. Market participants predict that the demand for isopropanol in China will increase by 2%~3% in 20 14 and 20 15 years. Based on this calculation, China's imports will further decrease, and at the same time, it will expand its exports. Therefore, some sellers began to look for long-term customers in Southeast Asia, and expected to encounter fierce competition from China's export products.
