Lithium battery replacement opportunities appear.
While the lead-acid battery industry has undergone an unprecedented overhaul, new opportunities have emerged in the field of lithium batteries, which are regarded as "future energy sources".
In some people's view, due to the environmental protection characteristics of lithium batteries, the current rectification of the lead-acid battery industry will reopen the imagination of lithium batteries. Although lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries will keep abreast for a long time, the reorganization and reshuffle of the former industry will inevitably affect related enterprises in a short time, triggering a new round of structural adjustment in the battery industry. At the same time, there are some substitution opportunities for more environmentally friendly lithium batteries.
According to the data, because it does not contain harmful heavy metals such as cadmium, lead and mercury, lithium batteries hardly produce pollutants during production and use.
On the other hand, lithium batteries also face the opportunity of industrial transfer after the earthquake in Japan. It is reported that Japan's lithium battery industry has been in the forefront of the world, with a global market share of over 50%, but the earthquake has seriously affected the operation of the country's battery industry chain. Industry insiders predict that due to the Japanese earthquake, there will be a capacity supply gap of about 4%-7% in the middle and lower reaches of lithium batteries throughout the year, which is expected to be supplemented by some manufacturers with sufficient capacity in China and South Korea.
Japanese media reported earlier that Panasonic has decided to transfer more lithium battery production from Japan to China. Before 20 12, the company will invest 20-30 billion yen to build a new factory and upgrade facilities in China. According to this plan, by 20 15, the proportion of batteries produced by Panasonic in China will increase to 50%. At present, 80%-90% of the company's lithium batteries are still produced in Japan, and the rest are in China.
As one of the important materials of batteries, the global aluminum foil production capacity also showed a big gap after the earthquake in Japan. Recently, two Japanese aluminum foil companies have successively sought partners in China, which has become another signal that the current Japanese battery industry chain is accelerating its transfer to China.
The reporter learned from the Institute of Electronics of China that the third China (Shanghai) International Battery Products and Technology Exhibition sponsored by the Institute will be held in Shanghai in September this year. At present, it seems that the number of lithium battery companies that signed up for the exhibition this year is twice that of last year. Compared with lead-acid battery enterprises in previous years, lithium battery enterprises have become the main force of this year's exhibition, further verifying the trend of structural adjustment of the battery industry.
It is reported that the "20 1 1 China Battery Technology Innovation (Shanghai) Forum" will be held in the same period of the exhibition, at which time the changes and opportunities of the current battery industry will be discussed.
Fu Yongzhen, investment consultant of Datong Securities, pointed out that accelerating the elimination of lead-acid batteries will make the prospects of lithium batteries in the industry broader. The concept of lithium battery covers a wide range. The stocks related to the upstream lithium mine are Ganfeng Lithium Industry (002460) and Tibet Mining Industry (000762), and the stocks related to the downstream lithium decomposition are Shanshan (600884).
Three listed companies announced the suspension of production, and the lead-acid battery industry reshuffled.
On May 23rd, the news that "Zhejiang and Guangdong shut down hundreds of lead-acid battery enterprises" reached the A-share market. Except Feng Fan (600482), Sanyang (002580), ST Yu Wanli (600847), Wolong Electric (600580), Du Nan Power Supply (300068) and Costar (300068).
Three listed companies suspended production of lead-acid batteries.
On May 17, Du Nan Electric Power issued the Announcement on Suspension of Production and Rectification, saying that according to the requirements of Zhejiang Province for the special rectification of the lead-acid battery industry in the whole province, the company's subsidiaries Hangzhou Du Nan Battery Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Du Nan Energy Technology Co., Ltd. have recently stopped production.
Subsequently (1May 8), Wolong Electric also issued the Announcement on the Rectification of Holding Subsidiary, saying that according to the requirements of Zhejiang Province for special rectification of the lead-acid battery industry in the province, the company and its holding subsidiary Wolong Lighthouse will focus on self-inspection of health and safety protection distance and other related work. Report to the acceptance as soon as possible after completing the self-inspection and strive to resume production as soon as possible.
On May 19, Costar, like Du Nan Power Supply and Wolong Electric, issued the Announcement on the Management of Stopping Production of Holding Subsidiaries, saying that the company received a notice from Huizhou Environmental Protection Bureau that "lead-acid battery enterprises need to stop production immediately and can resume production only after the rectification is completed and passed the acceptance of Huizhou Environmental Protection Bureau", and the battery production workshop has stopped production.
