What are the sources of big data?

There are many data sources for big data analysis, including internal sources and external sources of companies or institutions. Divided into the following categories:

1, transaction data. Including POS data, credit card data, e-commerce data, Internet click data, "enterprise resource planning" system data, sales system data, customer relationship management (CRM) system data, company production data, inventory data, order data, supply chain data, etc.

2. Mobile communication data. Mobile devices such as smart phones with Internet access are becoming more and more common. The amount of data recorded by mobile communication devices and the three-dimensional integrity of data are often superior to the data held by various Internet companies. The software on the mobile device can track and communicate countless events, from the transaction data stored in the software to personal information or status report events;

3. Manual data. Man-made data includes emails, documents, pictures, audio, videos and data streams generated through social media such as WeChat, blogs, Twitter, Wikipedia, Facebook and Linkedin. Most of these data are unstructured and need to be analyzed by text analysis function;

4. Machine and sensor data. Data from sensors, meters and other facilities, positioning /GPS system data, etc. This includes data created or generated by functional devices, such as intelligent temperature controllers, intelligent meters, factory machines and household appliances connected to the Internet. Data from the emerging Internet of Things is an example of data generated by machines and sensors. Data from the Internet of Things can be used to build analytical models, continuously monitor predictive behaviors (such as identifying when sensor values indicate problems), and provide specified instructions.
