1In April 1993, the "International Green Cross Society" was formally established in Tokyo, Japan, which was put forward by 1992 at the environmental conference of parliamentary leaders held in Brazil in June.
The purpose of the International Green Cross Society is to "protect the natural environment, ensure the future of mankind and all living things, and promote the change of values through all activities, so as to establish appropriate relationships between people and between people and nature." Corresponding to the purpose of the International Red Cross, its function is to save the earth in danger due to environmental and population problems, to rescue the scene where the environment has been destroyed, and to carry out daily environmental education.
The organization of the International Green Cross is based on the "Global Forum" and consists of representatives from religious, scientific and cultural circles and parliamentarians from various countries. In today's peace and economic development, environmental protection is becoming more and more important, so the establishment of the International Green Cross is in line with the trend of the times and of great significance.
