It is illegal for a company to find someone to exchange foreign currency. According to foreign exchange management regulations, residents must exchange foreign currency at banks or designated foreign exchange exchange points approved by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, otherwise it is illegal to exchange foreign currency. If found, relevant funds will be confiscated and a fine will be imposed. According to Article 45 of the Regulations on the Administration of Foreign Exchange in People's Republic of China (PRC), if you buy or sell foreign exchange without authorization or in disguise, or illegally introduce or buy or sell foreign exchange in a large amount, the foreign exchange administration authorities will give you a warning, confiscate your illegal income and impose a fine of less than 30% of the illegal amount. If the circumstances are serious, a fine of not less than 30% but not more than the equivalent of the illegal amount shall be imposed. If a crime is constituted, criminal responsibility shall be investigated according to law.
