The modeling of the building is based on the spiral motion of celestial bodies under the action of gravity, and the symbolic three-body building components are selected, which can also play the role of a large-scale building clock. The whole planetarium has 4 floors, including 3 floors above ground and 1 floor underground. The logo design of Shanghai Planetarium is based on the design concept of connecting man and the universe, and combined with the architectural design characteristics, it reflects the orbit operation law of celestial bodies. The three circles in the logo are taken from the three main parts of the Shanghai Planetarium, namely, the circular hole skylight, inverted dome and sphere, which not only embodies the exclusive nature of the Shanghai Planetarium, but also symbolizes China's ancient philosophical world view. The form of the symbol is like a beautiful music notation, which means that the universe is as beautiful as music. The color is starry blue, representing science and technology and the universe, with mysterious and steady connotation.
