Foreign investment in Mongolia accounts for most of the mining industry. Mongolia has a vast territory and rich mineral resources. 80 kinds of minerals have been discovered and proved in the local area, and many mining areas and mining points have been established. Gold, coal mines, iron ore and other resources are abundant. However, these resources alone cannot support long-term development. As a result, resources eventually dried up, and Mongolia itself knows this fact. Therefore, on the one hand, they attract foreign investment through abundant resources, on the other hand, they actively develop their own renewable energy to maintain long-term development. However, the development of some renewable resources in Mongolia is restricted by neighboring Russia. In the current situation of power shortage in various countries, Mongolia has also proposed a solution. In other words, three hydropower stations will be built on the Serlenga River and its tributaries in the north. This river is the largest and richest in Mongolia. The normal development of these problems will be solved.
However, this cannot be decided after all, including the interests of Russia. Serlenga River started as an international river, flowing through Mongolia, flowing across the border into Russia and finally into Lake Baikal. When building a hydropower station in Mongolia, Russia's opinion is needed. Mongolia and Russia's neighbors have cooperative relations in many fields, so Russia rejected the plan. There is only one reason, and that is environmental problems. If the hydropower station is completed, the dirty ecological problems will be lost. In severe cases, Lake Baikal may make Russia dry and will not pose a danger to nature. In the final analysis, it is accompanied by the security of the country and the people. Of course, there are other rivers in Mongolia besides the Serenger River and the Kobdo River, most of which are international rivers and are restricted by Russia.
This shows that Mongolia's renewable energy is mainly wind energy and solar energy, and it has not yet achieved self-sufficiency. However, after all, the two countries have many cooperative relations. Therefore, this relationship cannot be frozen. Therefore, Mongolia plans to build a hydropower station. Russia refused and gave Mongolia two choices. First of all, Russia is trying to lay a power grid to solve the problem of insufficient power transmission to Mongolia. The second is to lay natural gas pipelines to alleviate the power shortage in Mongolia. Because of these two choices, Mongolia's plan can only finally end.
