1990, Wuhan university of technology optical fiber sensing technology research center was formally established. With the support of national key projects such as national key scientific and technological research, national natural science foundation, national "863" high technology and national key industrial experiments, more than 30 kinds of high-tech products in six categories have been formed, and more than ten national and provincial scientific and technological achievement awards and national patents have been won successively, and the technical level of products has reached the international level.
1997:
1997, the state approved "Wuhan University of Technology Optical Fiber Sensing Technology Research Center" as the only key industrial test base of optical fiber sensing technology in China, with a total investment of 28 million yuan, to establish industrial test lines for optical fiber liquid level, temperature and valve position, and to carry out industrial tests, forming a trial production capacity of 10000 sets/year. The project passed the national acceptance appraisal in May, 20001,and the appraisal expert committee considered that the overall technology reached the international advanced level.
In 2000,
In August 2000, in order to make the research results serve the national economic construction projects more effectively and meet the market demand, Wuhan University of Technology reformed the optical fiber sensing technology research center as a whole, and established Wuhan University of Technology Optical Technology Co., Ltd. together with Wuhan Iron and Steel Group, Beixin Building Materials Co., Ltd., Hubei Investment Company and Hubei Shuanghuan Technology Development and Investment Company. Since then, the historical footprint of science and technology optics in China optical fiber sensing industry has been opened.

In June 2008 +2008 10, the National Development and Reform Commission approved the National Engineering Laboratory of Optical Fiber Sensing Technology declared by the Research Center of Optical Fiber Sensing Technology of Wuhan University of Technology, and obtained the national construction funds to make preparations. Wuhan Institute of Technology and Wuhan University of Technology are both contractors of this project. After the completion of the national engineering laboratory of optical fiber sensing technology, it will strongly support the comprehensive strength of R&D of the Ministry of Science and Technology. The scientific research achievements of the Technology Research Center represent the forefront of optical fiber sensing technology in China, and will be transformed into industrial management through the Ministry of Science and Technology to serve the national economy and people's livelihood.
