Where did China get the nuclear fuel?
China's nuclear materials are extracted from uranium 235 and plutonium 239. Uranium -235 is purified from natural uranium. Through gas diffusion or centrifugation, uranium -235 with a concentration of only 0.7% in natural uranium can be purified to 3% for power generation in nuclear reactors, and further purified to about 90%, which can be used as a weapon-grade nuclear material for the production of atomic bombs.
