Xinhua News Agency is not a company, its full name is Xinhua News Agency, and it is the only news agency in People's Republic of China (PRC).
Xinhua Media, formerly known as Shanghai Fashion (Group) Company, began the shareholding system reform in September, 1993, converting the original company's net assets into 30 million state shares, and made an initial public offering in June of the same year, with a total of 50 million shares when it went public.
