1988, the State Council approved the establishment of China Huaneng group company (registered capital1500 million yuan) and established Huaneng group.
From 65438 to 0996, Huaneng Group Company was incorporated into the newly established State Power Company and became its wholly-owned subsidiary.
In 2002, according to the national power system reform plan, the State Council approved the reorganization of China Huaneng Group Corporation. Huaneng is mainly engaged in the investment, construction, operation and management of power supply, organizing the production and sales of electric power (heat) and the investment, construction, production and management of information, transportation, new energy, environmental protection, trade, fuel and other related industries and products.
China State Grid Corporation was established from February 5 to April 38, 2002. China State Grid Corporation (SGCC) is a super-large enterprise established on the basis of some enterprises and institutions of the former State Power Company, with the core business of building and operating power grids and operating power grid assets such as power transmission and distribution. The company operates five regional power grids in Northeast China, North China, East China, Central China and Northwest China, and its power supply services cover 26 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government.
Therefore, it can be said that Huaneng Group and State Grid Corporation belong to the former State Power Corporation. The national power system reform can also be simply described as the separation of power generation enterprises from power grid management enterprises, that is, the separation of power grids.
