Company logo of MTR Corporation Limited

The logo adopted by MTR Corporation Limited was designed by MTR Corporation of Hong Kong when 1975 was established. At first, the company logo had no color, only two opposite semicircles, with a straight line passing through it, and the words "Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway Corporation" were written next to it in Chinese or English. Its logo concept originated from the word "wood" in China, which symbolizes strength, stability and growth, symbolizing that the underground railway at that time ran through Hongkong Island and Kowloon separated by water. In order to keep up with the continuous progress of Hong Kong society, this symbol has a new look in 1996. In addition to retaining the original emblem, the words "MTR Corporation" were added in both Chinese and English, which fully reflected the perseverance and enterprising characteristics of Hong Kong as an international city.

In order to cooperate with the merger of the two railways, MTRC changed the Chinese and English word "MTRC" next to the company logo to "MTR MTR" at the end of 2007, and it has been used ever since.
