Message from the Dean: The Department of Electrical Engineering developed from the specialty of aircraft electrical equipment installation and testing at the beginning of the school. It is the earliest teaching and research unit of aircraft electrical system in China, and the second authorized unit of power electronics technology in China. This major is a national undergraduate specialty, a national defense specialty, a brand specialty in Jiangsu Province, and a key specialty in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan of Jiangsu Province. It focuses on the application of computer science, control theory and information science in various fields of electrical engineering, and has broad development prospects. Related research fields have important influence in China, and employment channels are wide.

This major has four research directions: power electronics and power transmission, motors and appliances, power system and its automation, electrical theory and new technology. Cultivate high-quality senior engineering and technical personnel with extensive professional basic knowledge and engineering technology foundation in the field of electrical engineering, good electrical analysis, electrical design, electrical system design, electrical system operation, scientific research, technology development and management capabilities, and adapt to the national economic construction, especially the development of aerospace, national defense industry and new energy industry.

Main professional courses: circuit, signal and linear system, analog electronic technology, automatic control principle, engineering electromagnetic field, electrical engineering, digital electronic technology, power electronic technology, power engineering, computer hardware technology foundation, aerospace power supply technology, etc.

Graduates can engage in technical development, engineering design, system operation, experimental analysis, scientific research management and other work in electrical engineering and related fields in aviation, aerospace, civil aviation, energy and electricity, communications and electronics.

In the past three years, the enrollment rate of graduate students in this major has remained above 48%, and the employment rate has been above 99%.
