According to US media reports on September 27th, the company's spokeswoman told the media that U650 UAV will be rolled off the assembly line in Shanghai before the end of this year. Analysts say that this will put Youwei ahead of other companies that have developed amphibious drones but have not yet entered mass production from the prototype stage.
According to the company, U650 can stay in the air for 15 hours at the longest, and the longest flight distance can reach 2,000 kilometers. But heavy load will reduce these two data.
According to the report, U650 UAV can carry up to 550 pounds (249.5 kilograms) of cargo, but it has restrictions on where it can reach. Cong Wang, an analyst with IHS Marquette Consulting, said that due to its huge size, this new drone will not be able to enter the airspace that ordinary manned aircraft can enter, which will "greatly limit its potential use".
