Shanghai Anjixing Information Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Anjixing") is a newly established joint venture between General Motors, SAIC and SAIC-GM on June 28th, 2009, with a total investment of over 300 million yuan. At the end of 2009, it provided automobile safety information service for the main models produced and sold by SAIC-GM in China. Anjixing and Shanghai Automobile Industry Sales Co., Ltd., as wholly-owned subsidiaries of General Motors and SAIC respectively, hold 40% equity of Anjixing, and their joint venture company SAIC General Motors in China holds 20% equity of Anjixing.
Anjixing is the eighth joint venture between General Motors and SAIC, and the first information service organization outside the North American market. OnStar is one of the most successful brands of General Motors. By the end of 2008, 95% of GM products listed in North America had installed the system. OnStar system will provide China consumers with a wide range of automobile safety information services through the application of global positioning system (GPS) and wireless communication technology, including automatic collision assistance, roadside rescue assistance, full voice-controlled hands-free telephone, real-time on-demand detection, full voice-controlled navigation, stolen vehicle location, and mobile phone application. Anjixing, one of the parent companies, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors and a leading provider of in-vehicle information services in the United States. Today, more than 7 million users in North America use OnStar services.
The establishment of Anjixing is another expansion of SAIC-GM in the field of automobile service after the innovative launch of service brands and products, Chengxin used car business and financial loan service.
