Taishan nuclear power project began to excavate power generation.

According to the signed agreement, two EPR reactors in China and Guangdong are jointly built by Areva Group and China Guangdong Nuclear Power. Areva will provide services for the operation of reactors and raw materials for the first phase of Taishan Nuclear Power Station. Areva and both parties set up a joint venture company to develop engineering technology. In addition, China Guangdong Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. agreed to buy a 35% stake in its uranium mining company that produces Areva. The total value of CGNPC Areva agreement is 8 billion euros.
