Air Algeria (Arabic:? ), the national airline of Algeria, headquartered in Algiers.
It is the third largest airline in Africa (second only to South African Airlines and EgyptAir), with an annual throughput of over 7.5 million. With 20 new generation Boeing 737 series aircraft, it is one of the most airlines in North Africa.
Development history
Air Algeria is the national airline of Algeria. Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Algiers, Algerian Airlines AH is the third largest airline in Africa (next to South African Airlines and Egyptian Airlines), with an annual throughput of over 7.5 million passengers.
Its fleet includes four Boeing 737-600 s and 10 Boeing 737-800 s. In August 2006, two more Boeing 737-800 s were introduced. On May 23rd 1953, it merged with air transport company to be called Air Transport Corporation. 1962 the company became Air Algeria, and 1972 was nationalized. The company has 8,530 employees and holds a 49% stake in Tahiri Airlines.
