Brief introduction of the first heavy machinery factory

China No.1 Heavy Machinery Group Company, formerly known as Fulaerji Heavy Machinery Factory and China No.1 Heavy Machinery Factory. 1954 was established, and 1956 started construction. The first phase of 1956 was invested by the state, and 1958 was completed and put into operation, with a factory area of 6.8 million square meters (6.8 square kilometers). It is the largest heavy machinery factory in Asia and the largest production base of cast and forged steel in China. It has the first hydraulic press in China and the largest in Asia 1.25 million tons, and the first workshop is the largest equipment workshop in China. The 7.7-meter-high portrait of Chairman Mao recast by 1969 in the square in front of the factory is the largest portrait of Chairman in China with more than 80,000 employees.
