This is the first large-scale overseas acquisition by Bank of China, marking that Bank of China has become the first bank in China to enter the global aircraft leasing business. Shortly after the acquisition, the company changed its name to "BOC Aviation Leasing Pte Ltd".
By the end of 2007, BOC Airlines had 76 aircraft serving 29 airlines in 19 countries. The company has 63 employees from many countries, including 55 employees in Singapore headquarters and 4 employees in Europe and the United States.
