(A) Shipbuilding enterprise structure
There are 130 shipbuilding enterprises in Korea. Including five large shipyards and four medium-sized shipyards under the Korean Shipbuilding Association, and Korean Shipbuilding 124 small and medium-sized shipbuilding member enterprises (attached table). The whole shipbuilding industry presents a pattern of "5 to 95", that is, the five major shipyards have 95% of the country's shipbuilding capacity and dominate the overall production of the shipbuilding industry. At the same time, 95% of the shipbuilding of the five major shipyards is exported overseas, which is a typical export-oriented industry.
At present, South Korea's oil tankers, container ships, liquefied natural gas carriers (LNG), floating production and storage tankers (FPSO), high-speed ships, super-large ships and luxury passenger ships all occupy the leading position in the world.
(B) South Korean shipbuilding industry in the international market share
From 65438 to 0980, Korean shipbuilding enterprises began to enter the international market on a large scale. After more than 20 years of rapid development, the proportion of Korean shipbuilding industry in the international market has exceeded 30%, reaching 45.8% in 2000.
In 2003, South Korea won the title of the world's largest shipbuilding country, and both the total order volume and the number of the best ships in the world won the bid, surpassing Japan. According to the statistics of Clarkson Research Company, the market share of South Korea's order volume is 15.2 percentage points higher than that of Japan, and the total order volume is167,500 modified gross tonnage (CGT), which is 120.6% higher than that of Japan's 4.7 million CGT. Mainly container ships account for 50.9%, oil tankers account for 40.2%, liquefied natural gas ships account for 3%, and dry bulk carriers account for 0.7%, and the added value has been greatly improved. In the whole year, 223 ships were actually built and delivered, with 7.26 million CGT. At the end of the year, the order volume reached 26,465,438+000 CGT, equivalent to at least three years of production capacity.
Among the top five shipbuilding enterprises in the world, South Korea occupies four seats, while Hyundai Heavy Industry, Daewoo Shipbuilding, Samsung Heavy Industry and Sanhu Heavy Industry rank in the top four, accounting for 24.2% of the world shipbuilding market (statistics in 20065438+0).
(3) Industry prospect
Due to optimistic about the world shipbuilding industry, it is expected that South Korea's shipbuilding will continue to grow steadily, and the winning bid in shipbuilding orders in 2004 is expected to be no less than 654.38+02.75 million tons TG. In the "20 10 Industrial Planning-Stepping into the World's Four Major Industries" published by the Ministry of Industry and Resources of Korea, shipbuilding and semiconductors are listed as one of the two pillar industries to ensure the world's number one. The main development direction is:
1. Promote structural adjustment and ensure technological competitiveness.
Vigorously promote R&D investment, develop and upgrade the manufacturing technology of super-large and ultra-high-speed ships, ensure the world leading position of oil tankers, container ships, liquefied natural gas carriers (LNG) and floating production and storage tankers (FPSO), and promote luxury cruise ships, offshore airports, marine garbage disposal operations and ultra-high-speed merchant ships to approach or catch up with Japan's level.
Actively develop "new marine industry", strive to realize the concept of "artificial island", and strive to achieve great development in the development and production of floating objects at sea.
2. Strengthen international cooperation and ease disputes in shipbuilding trade.
In view of the EU's trade sanctions (countervailing measures) against South Korea's shipbuilding industry, we will actively explore channels of dialogue and cooperation among Japan, the EU, China and South Korea. Especially in the face of the rapid development of shipbuilding industry in China, we strive to establish a "cooperative partnership" with China.
3. Promote the upgrading of ship parts industry and expand exports.
At present, the overall level of Korean shipbuilding parts and equipment industry needs to be improved. It is necessary to vigorously develop spare parts and core equipment for high value-added ships, as well as spare parts and equipment for improving ship automation and safety such as electronic braking technology, engine system, fault diagnosis technology, navigation satellite communication technology and production technology, and comprehensively improve the technical level and production capacity of supporting industries.
