Article 3 The professional qualification of lightning protection engineering is divided into two categories: design qualification and construction qualification, and the qualification grade is divided into Grade A, Grade B and Grade C. The competent meteorological department of the State Council is responsible for the management of professional qualification of lightning protection engineering in China, and undertakes the identification of design and construction qualification of Grade A lightning protection engineering. The competent meteorological departments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government shall be responsible for the professional qualification management of lightning protection projects within their respective administrative areas, and undertake the qualification identification of design and construction of lightning protection projects of Grade B and C. ..
Article 4 A Grade-A qualified unit may design or construct lightning protection works, rectification works and new lightning protection works in explosive dangerous environments such as oil depots, gas depots, gas filling stations, liquefied natural gas (LNG), oil (gas) pipeline stations and valve rooms. It is stipulated in the Code for Lightning Protection Design of Buildings.
Grade B qualified units can be engaged in the design or construction of lightning protection works, rectification works and new lightning protection works for Class II and Class III buildings specified in Code for Lightning Protection Design of Buildings. Class C qualified units can be engaged in the design or construction of lightning protection projects for buildings, rectification projects, new lightning protection projects and other projects stipulated in the Code for Lightning Protection Design of Buildings. The lightning protection engineering design or construction of cultural relics protection units and other immovable cultural relics must be undertaken by units with Grade A and Grade B qualifications.
