Who is the founder of Tencent?

Ma, aged 36, is the executive director, chairman and CEO of Tencent, and is fully responsible for the strategic planning, positioning and management of the Group. Mr. Ma is one of the main founders and has been employed by the Group since 1999.

Before taking up his present post, Mr. Ma was responsible for the research and development of Internet paging system in Shenzhen Runxun Communication Development Co., Ltd., a telecom service and product provider in China.

Mr. Ma obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Application from Shenzhen University in 1993, and has over 10 years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries.

Elected vice chairman of Shenzhen University Alumni Association and chairman of Computer Department Alumni Association.
