FAW Group is a deputy ministerial unit, which is supervised by SASAC. Its chairman is a deputy ministerial cadre directly appointed by the Central Organization Department. China FAW Group Co., Ltd. is a large state-owned industrial enterprise directly under the former Ministry of Machinery Industry.
