Enterprise content of Japan Iron and Steel Engineering Holding Company

On September 27th, 2002, NKK Corporation, the second largest steel company in Japan, and Kawasaki Steel Company, the third largest steel company in Japan, merged to form JFE Holdings, which reappeared with a new look of JFE. In April 2003, the two companies established a new system for better development and restructuring. After the merger of these two steel companies, the annual output of steel is 2510.7 million tons, and the annual sales amount to more than 2.5 trillion yen. In terms of steel production and sales, it has approached and caught up with Nippon Steel, Japan's largest steel company. The merged JFE holding company will put improving enterprise efficiency and reducing enterprise debt at the top of its business. The new company decided to first straighten out the production relations of its steel mills and integrate the production departments into two categories: steel products and engineering technology. At the same time, further strengthen the communication between technicians, avoid repeated investment, reduce the procurement cost of raw materials, and give up redundant production equipment. JFE is the second largest iron and steel group in the world, and it is also one of the few enterprises that produce automobile outer panels in the world. Many technologies represent the highest level of the world steel industry.

JFE Steel Company is a large Japanese steel company with an annual output of 27 million tons, and it is one of the largest steel companies in the world.

As the second largest steel manufacturer in Japan, JFE also attaches great importance to the development and production of automobile steel plates. It can be said that Kawasaki Steel and NKK attached great importance to the global operation of automobile steel plates long before the merger. Especially in the face of the sharp drop in the price of ordinary steel this year, JFE Steel Company adjusted its product structure in time. On the one hand, we will continue to reduce the output of low value-added steel plates for construction, on the other hand, we will strive to increase the output of high value-added products such as steel plates for shipbuilding and galvanized steel plates for automobiles. JFE Group plans to invest 3 1 100 million yen in the next two years to increase the output of automobile steel plates. Its development strategy in the field of automobile panels: technical development and cooperation, building more domestic equipment, establishing joint ventures and providing raw material substrates. The most prominent strategy of JFE is the EVI project with ThyssenKrupp of Germany. JFE's Iron and Steel Research Institute has set up the first User Technology Laboratory (CSL) in Japan's iron and steel industry in Chiba Prefecture, aiming at actively promoting EVI activities for automobile users. JFE hopes to promote automobile marketing activities and the development of a new generation of automobile steel by setting up a user's use technology laboratory. JFE has advanced production technology of high-pressure steel plate, surface-treated steel plate, stainless steel, electromagnetic steel plate, steel tube, wire rod, iron powder and resin composite material. The newly established user technology laboratory has demonstrated a new generation of automobile parts made of advanced materials and processing technologies, as well as anti-contamination and body corrosion evaluation technologies, and has an investigation area for body structure and material composition, an experimental area for various welding machines and steel plate evaluation equipment, etc.

In addition, it has strengthened its technical cooperation with major steel companies in Europe and North America, and developed its automobile plate business on a global scale. In Europe, since April 2002, JFE has been working closely with ThyssenKrupp of Germany to produce automobile steel plates. Since JFE's production and sales are mainly concentrated in Japan and Asia, while Thyssen's production and sales are mainly concentrated in Europe, it can enter the European automobile plate market through ThyssenKrupp of Germany. In April 2002, it first concluded a technical cooperation agreement with ThyssenKrupp in the fields of automobile panels and related research and development. Its technical cooperation mainly includes four points: JFE provides ThyssenKrupp with the production technology of automobile plates; Standardization of car license plates sold by two companies; JFE provides ThyssenKrupp with the original circuit board; * * * Develop high-strength steel plates, etc. Not long ago, JFE and ThyssenKrupp further strengthened their cooperation in the field of automobile panels. The two companies jointly established a new company called JEVISE, which is responsible for coordinating the exchanges between the two sides in the market and technology, especially the EVI project for Japanese and foreign automakers.

In North America, JFE has strengthened its cooperation with major Canadian steel companies. As early as August 1990, Kawasaki Steel Company at that time concluded a cooperative relationship with Canadian Steel Company focusing on steel production technology and steel product development. In February 2002, the two sides expanded technical cooperation, mainly focusing on the production technology and product development of automobile steel plates and special bars, as well as the raw material production and processing technology of large diameter steel pipes. This also means the beginning of its auto panel center in Canada. In April, 20001,Kawasaki Steel entered into a strategic cooperation treaty with American AK Steel Company, and AK Company was regarded as an equal partner, which strengthened the cooperative relationship between the two sides.

In Asia, in order to occupy the Indian automobile plate market, in 2002, Kawasaki Steel Co., Ltd. actively cooperated with NMPL, an Indian steel plate processing center, to provide not only incomparable steel in India, but also various technical guidance, thus expanding its automobile steel plate supply in India. At present, JFE has established joint ventures in the United States, Canada, China and other places, aiming at accelerating the global operation of its automobile panels.

1989 In May, Kawasaki Steel Co., Ltd. and Armco Company of the United States jointly operated Armco Steel Company (now AK Steel Company), with the purpose of providing high-grade steel plates to Japanese automakers such as Toyota and Honda of the United States. 1In March, 1990, NKK, Canada Dofasco and Canada National Steel Company jointly invested about 200 million US dollars (40% of which was invested by NKK), and established DNN Company as a joint venture, mainly producing high-grade hot-dip galvanized sheets for automobiles, with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons.

In China, JFE aims at the gap of automobile steel plates in China and works closely with China steel enterprises. In September 2003, JFE Iron and Steel Company and Guangzhou Iron and Steel Group reached a preliminary agreement on establishing a joint venture, and formally signed a cooperation agreement in June 2003 to establish Guangzhou JFE Steel Plate Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 20 billion yen. JFE Steel holds 565,438+0% of the shares, and the Chinese side holds 49%. The designed annual production capacity is 400,000 tons of hot-dip galvanized steel plates, mainly high value-added steel plates, with a thickness of 0.3-2.3 mm and a width of 800- 1700 mm. At that time, the estimated production time was April 2006.
