Aetna More History of China:
Aetna is one of the first international insurance companies to enter China after China's economic reform. As early as 1993, Aetna set up its first office in China.
From 65438 to 0997, Aetna and China Pacific Life Insurance Company jointly established Pacific Aetna Life Insurance Company.
1998, Aetna donated100000 USD to Shanghai Jiaotong University to establish a business school, named Aetna School of Management.
From 1992 to 2000, Aetna donated about US$ 6 million to several top universities in China, such as Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University and Guangzhou College of Finance and Economics, and established Aetna Scholarships.
In 2000, Aetna's global strategy was adjusted to focus on health insurance business and related group insurance. As part of the strategy, Aetna abandoned its global life insurance and financial services business. Finally, Aetna Pacific Life Insurance Company was sold to ING. However, Aetna retained its international health business unit Aetna Global Benefits.
In 2003, with the special approval of China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Aetna became the global health insurance provider of Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Company.
In March, 2008, Aetna opened an office in Shanghai and began to actively explore the road of strategic development in China.
