Why do many listed companies have an ST in their names?

St: It deals with the financial situation (including losses) or other abnormal conditions of listed companies, which leads to the risk of termination of listing, or it is difficult for investors to judge the company's prospects, and the investment rights may be damaged. The exchange will handle the company's stock trading in a special way. Special treatment is divided into special treatment for warning the risk of termination of listing (hereinafter referred to as "delisting risk warning") and other special treatment. The measures to deal with the warning of delisting risk include: (1) adding the prefix "*ST" before the company's stock abbreviation to distinguish it from other stocks; (2) The daily increase and decrease of stock quotation shall be limited to 5%. On the first day of resumption of listing, the daily rise and fall of stock quotation is not limited by the 5% mentioned in the preceding paragraph. Other special measures include: (1) prefix the abbreviation of the company's stock with the word "ST" to distinguish it from other stocks; (2) The daily increase and decrease of stock quotation shall be limited to 5%.
