After nearly ten years of operation, the bridge bearings of Qingzhou Minjiang Bridge in Fuzhou have been damaged to varying degrees. In order to prevent bearing diseases from affecting the stress of the main structure of the bridge, Fuzhou Guangmin Road and Bridge Construction and Development Co., Ltd., a bridge maintenance unit, decided to replace all bearings after detailed preliminary investigation and demonstration and referring to the opinions of bridge design units.
The maintenance and replacement of bridge bearings usually need to close traffic, especially for such a large cable-stayed bridge. However, Qingzhou Bridge is the only way for shenyang-haikou expressway to cross the Minjiang River, and it is the main passage from Fuzhou to Changle International Airport. Traffic disruption has a great impact on society. Therefore, the maintenance unit put forward the engineering requirement of completing the bearing replacement in a way of uninterrupted traffic, which was carefully designed by China Railway Bridge Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., and Xinjin Tengzhong Road Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (Shanghai An Zhe Construction Science and Technology Engineering Co., Ltd.) adopted advanced plane and spherical double friction pair jacking equipment and PLC computer synchronous lifting system technology to replace the single pier bearing. After 40 days' efforts, all the 56 large-tonnage vertical bearings of the long-span cable-stayed bridge were safely and smoothly replaced without interruption of traffic.
