Huangpu Wharf grew up with Hong Kong and has the same long and glorious history. Founded in 1863, the company acquired the dock and repair shop in Huangpu, Pearl River, China and the newly-built dry dock in Aberdeen, Hong Kong Island. 1866, Huangpu Wharf obtained the No.1 Hong Kong Business Registration Certificate according to the newly promulgated Company Law at that time.

In the past century, Huangpu Dock has been one of the largest dry dock, ship repair and shipbuilding companies in the Far East, during which it experienced two world wars. At the peak of business, the terminal handles an average of 25 ships per week. 1960, the company provided services to 23 countries and 9 naval fleets.

Huangpu Wharf first entered the real estate development market in 1969. By 1970, the company held a majority stake in Junyi Co., Ltd., which owned the main docks and warehouses on Hong Kong Island. Junyi's three warehouses in the Western District were converted into large-scale commercial/residential projects from 1972 to 1978. Wharf and warehouse in North Point also developed into the provident fund center in North Point today.

1977, Huangpu Wharf merged with Hutchison Enterprise Co., Ltd. to form Hutchison Whampoa. Huangpu Wharf's business is mainly real estate, and its management structure has been expanded. The market and property management departments have been added respectively, and the freight business has been handed over to hongkong international terminals Co., Ltd.

19841February 14, the company signed the land exchange clause with the Hong Kong government, which became an important page in the development of Huangpu Wharf, and the world-famous shipbuilding and ship repair era of Huangpu Wharf came to an end. Huangpu Wharf has successively launched brand-new Huangpu Garden projects with an investment of HK$ 4 billion, which is one of the largest commercial housing projects in Hong Kong, showing Hutchison Whampoa Group's confidence in the future development of Hong Kong.
