On February 23, 2003, Shanghai World Financial Center held a resumption ceremony. However, as the skyscrapers under construction in Taipei and Hong Kong both exceeded the original design height of Shanghai World Financial Center, the Japanese side revised the original design plan and changed the design height from 466 meters to 492 meters.

Extended data:
Shanghai World Financial Center (SGFH) is a skyscraper located atNo. century avenue 100, Lujiazui, Shanghai, which was completed on August 29th, 2008. The building is 492 meters high and 10 1 floor above ground.
The main building is a square column, which is formed by the intersection of two giant arched inclined planes, and the top gradually narrows upward. In order to reduce wind resistance, the original design set up a giant circular wind hole at the top of the building, drawing lessons from the "Moon Gate" of China garden buildings. Later, the roof wind tunnel was changed from circular to inverted trapezoid, and it was determined as the final design scheme.
Shanghai World Financial Center is a project jointly invested by Japan Mori Building Co., Ltd. and more than 40 enterprises from Japan and the United States, with a total investment of more than 654.38+005 billion yen (more than 654.38+000 billion US dollars). The original design is 460 meters high, the project plot area is 30,000 square meters, and the total construction area is 38 1600 square meters, adjacent to Jinmao Building.
After the construction of 1997, due to the Asian financial crisis, the project was suspended for a time. The project resumed in February 2003. However, at that time, China, Taibei and Hongkong were all building 480-meter-high skyscrapers, which exceeded the original design height of the world financial center. Because the original intention of Japan to build the world's tallest building remained unchanged, the original design was revised.
After the revision, the World Financial Center has seven more floors than the original one, namely, the ground 10 1 floor and three underground floors, with a total construction area of about 377,300 square meters. It was rated as "the best completed high-rise building in 2008" by the Chicago High-rise Building and Urban Housing Committee.
