Brief introduction of China Netcom Company

China Network Communication Co., Ltd. (China Netcom) was established on August 6th, 1999, and is committed to the construction of a new generation of telecommunications infrastructure, providing all-round broadband telecommunications services. It is a super-large state-owned communication operation enterprise group managed by the central government. The State Council is an institution authorized by the state to invest and a pilot unit of state holding companies. It is composed of 10 communication companies in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Henan and Shandong provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government and Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Southwest China and Sichuan. The existing fixed assets are more than 220 billion yuan, and there are more than 230,000 employees. The average age of employees in the group is 34 years old.

China Netcom Broadband High Speed Internet (CNCnet), built and operated by China Netcom, is the first large-scale high-speed broadband network built in China by applying IP/DWDM technology. CNCnet will carry integrated services and value-added services including voice, data and video to realize seamless connection of various business networks. The main services currently carried out by China Netcom include: domestic and international bandwidth wholesale service, high-speed public Internet access service, residential broadband access service, IP long-distance telephone, high-speed network data center and its main services, DVB/IP satellite broadband access service, satellite line leasing service, VPN (Virtual Private Network) and virtual ISP. The first phase of broadband high-speed Internet CNCnet was opened in 2000, covering southeast China 17 cities, mainly providing high-speed and large-volume information transmission and transit, with a total network transmission bandwidth of 40Gbps.
