Can a limited liability company set up a non-profit enterprise?

A limited liability company cannot establish a non-profit enterprise. A limited liability company is a profit-making enterprise, whose main purpose is to make profits. According to the provisions of the company law, a limited liability company must pursue economic interests and has the characteristics of relatively centralized ownership and natural person shareholders as the main members. The purpose of non-profit enterprises is to provide public services or meet social needs, and their income realization is mainly used for their own career development or public welfare support, without pursuing profit. Common non-profit organizations include charities, educational institutions and social welfare organizations. Therefore, non-profit enterprises usually choose to register and operate in the form of non-profit organizations rather than limited liability companies.
