The predecessor of Xinxing Petroleum Company is the Bureau of Petroleum Geology and Marine Geology of the former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources. Since 1950s, he has led China petroleum industry to realize three major strategic turning points marked by the discovery of annual oil fields, the breakthrough of the Pearl River Mouth Basin and the East China Sea Shelf Basin, and the high-yield industrial oil flow in Shashen 2 well in Tabei, Xinjiang, and made great contributions to the development of China petroleum industry.
For more than 50 years, this team has made great contributions to the development of China petroleum industry. A systematic oil and gas survey was carried out in 76 basins on land and in the sea of China, and industrial oil flows were found in 35 of them, which made many strategic breakthroughs and brought three important strategic turning points to the oil industry: first, the discovery of Daqing Oilfield marked the development of China's oil industry and the question of whether the continental basins were rich in oil and gas resources; Second, marked by the breakthrough of the Pearl River Mouth Basin and the East China Sea Shelf Basin, it reveals that China offshore is rich in oil and gas resources; Thirdly, marked by the high-yield industrial oil gas flow in Shashen 2 well in Tabei, Xinjiang, a major breakthrough in marine oil and gas exploration in China has been achieved, which proves that the Tarim Basin is rich in oil and gas resources and provides a basis for the strategic decision of shifting the focus of oil and gas exploration and development to the west in China.
In order to speed up the reform of China's petroleum industry system, the State Council established China Xinxing Petroleum Co., Ltd. on February 7, 1996 on the basis of the Petroleum Geology and Marine Geology Bureau of the former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources and its subordinate petroleum system survey and exploration research team.
After the establishment of Xinxing Company, on the basis of previous work, oil and gas exploration and development bases in Northwest China, Southwest China, East China Sea, Northeast China, East China, Ordos, etc. were quickly formed, and Tahe Oilfield was discovered and built. Oil and gas production has increased substantially, benefits have been continuously improved, and state-owned assets have increased rapidly.
In the deepening reform of China's petroleum industry system, on February 29th, 2000, the Central Committee and the State Council made it clear that China Xinxing Petroleum Company was integrated into China Petrochemical Group. Renamed China Petrochemical Group Xinxing Petroleum Co., Ltd.
Xinxing Oil Company is headquartered in Beijing, and its business includes the development and utilization of geothermal resources, the construction of domestic and foreign oil and public works, and mining development.
